A Toronto police officer is recovering in hospital after a serious collision involving a motorcycle and a transport truck on Highway 403 westbound near Dundas Street, close to the Mississauga-Oakville border.

The incident occurred during a police training exercise, according to official reports. The officer, who was operating a Toronto Police Service motorcycle, sustained serious injuries in the crash and was rushed to a trauma centre by Peel Paramedics.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) confirmed that the crash took place west of Dundas Street, forcing the closure of all westbound lanes on Highway 403 for several hours. Motorists in the area experienced significant delays as police conducted their investigation and cleared the scene.

Emergency crews, including the OPP, Peel Paramedics, and multiple units from the Toronto Police Service, responded promptly. The officer’s current condition remains serious but stable, and updates are expected as the investigation continues.

Drivers are urged to find alternate routes as cleanup and reconstruction efforts remain ongoing.
