Man Clings to Life After Targeted Oakville Shooting Outside Lounge

A late-night outing turned violent in Oakville, as a man was critically injured in what police believe was a targeted shooting early Saturday morning.
Halton Regional Police responded to a 911 call just before 12:30 a.m. in the area of Cross Avenue and Trafalgar Road, a busy intersection lined with shops and restaurants. The scene quickly turned into a crime zone outside Hashtag Garden Modern Kitchen and Lounge, where a man was found shot inside his parked vehicle.
According to investigators, two individuals pulled up in a separate vehicle, exited, and approached the man in what appeared to be a calculated move. Moments later, gunfire erupted.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. As of now, he remains in critical condition.
“This appears to be a targeted attack,” Halton police stated in a release, underscoring the deliberate nature of the confrontation. The suspects, described only as wearing dark clothing and face coverings, fled the scene in a grey, late-model Honda CR-V SUV.
The shooting has sent shockwaves through the Oakville community, which rarely sees violent incidents of this nature—especially in such a public and popular area.
Despite active efforts, police have little to go on regarding the identities of the assailants. Investigators are now calling on the public to assist.
“We are urging anyone with dashcam footage or who was in the area between 11 p.m. Friday and 1 a.m. Saturday to come forward,” police said.
Tips can be directed to Halton police at 905-825-4776 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
As the investigation unfolds, questions remain about the motive, the victim’s connection to the suspects, and whether the location played a role in the planned assault. For now, the community waits for answers as police continue their search for justice.
