A devastating three-vehicle collision in Newmarket Wednesday morning has left one person dead and two others hospitalized, prompting an urgent investigation and road closures in the area.
York Regional Police say emergency crews were dispatched shortly after 10 a.m. to the intersection of Davis Drive West and Dufferin Street, where a dump truck, a tractor trailer, and a car had collided.
The aftermath was grim: one individual was pronounced dead at the scene, while two others were rushed to hospital. Police confirmed that one of the injured is in serious condition, and the other sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Photos from the crash site reveal a chaotic scene — mangled vehicles, shattered glass, and twisted metal scattered across the road. At this time, authorities have not disclosed which vehicle the deceased individual was in when the crash occurred.
