McIntosh Summer Breaks Third World Record at Canadian Trials

Toronto, ON – Canada’s rising swimming sensation McIntosh Summer continues to make headlines after smashing her third world record in just five days.
On Wednesday night, the 18-year-old from Toronto clocked an astonishing 4:23.65 in the 400-metre individual medley during the Bell Canadian Swimming Trials in Victoria, B.C.. The performance surpassed her own previous world-best of 4:24.38, which she had set at last year’s Olympic trials.
“Honestly, I’m at a loss for words,” McIntosh Summer told reporters. “It’s been such a memorable week.”
This marks the third time this week that she’s broken a world record, and the fifth time she’s reset a national record — setting her up as a key figure for Canada heading into the international stage.
McIntosh Summer now turns her focus to the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore, scheduled for next month.
