Madison Keys kept her Canadian Open hopes alive with a thrilling comeback win over Karolina Muchova in the Round of 16. After dropping the first set and facing two match points in the third, Keys showed trademark resilience to battle back and claim a 4–6, 6–3, 7–5 victory in front of an energized Montreal crowd.

The sixth seed leaned on her powerful serve and aggressive baseline play to turn the match around, notching her third win this season after facing match points. Her ability to stay composed under pressure continues to define her 2025 campaign, which already includes a Grand Slam title at the Australian Open.

Keys’ path doesn’t get easier. She now advances to face Denmark’s Clara Tauson in the quarterfinals — a rising star who recently upset world number one Iga Świątek. Their previous encounter earlier this year ended in Tauson’s favor, adding extra tension to this high-stakes rematch.

As the tournament heats up, Keys remains the last top-eight seed standing, reinforcing her reputation as one of the WTA’s most dangerous hard-court players heading into the final stretch of the season.
