Man in Critical Condition After Falling into Traffic During Altercation in Hamilton

Hamilton police are investigating a serious incident that left a man in his 30s critically injured after he fell into traffic and was struck by a vehicle on Sunday evening.

Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after 6:00 p.m. near Barton Street East and Balsam Street North. According to reports, the man had fallen into the curb lane amid a disturbance and was hit by an oncoming vehicle.

He was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition.

While the exact circumstances are still under investigation, authorities believe the incident may have stemmed from an altercation. Officers are now working to identify others involved and are reviewing surveillance footage from the area.

The Hamilton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is leading the investigation. As of Monday, the curb lane of Barton Street East remains closed between Leinster Avenue North and Connaught Avenue North.
