Caledon, ON – A serious two-vehicle collision in Caledon claimed the life of one driver and left another injured on Thursday evening, according to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
The crash took place just before 5:00 p.m. along Highway 9 near Mount Pleasant Road, prompting a swift emergency response from police and paramedics. Authorities confirmed that one driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
As of Thursday night, the exact cause of the collision remains under investigation.
To facilitate the investigation, Highway 9 has been shut down between Highway 50 and Mount Pleasant Road. Motorists are being urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes as police continue their work on scene.
