Over $100K in Illegal Drugs Seized During Welland Police Bust

Welland police have seized more than $100,000 worth of illegal drugs following a targeted investigation into local drug distribution.

Detectives with the 2 District Street Crime Unit had been monitoring suspected drug activity throughout August. On August 26, officers executed search warrants at a Welland residence and two associated vehicles, uncovering a substantial quantity of narcotics.

Authorities report seizing over 440 grams of fentanyl, valued at approximately $44,050, nearly 252 grams of cocaine worth $30,348, and more than 378 grams of crystal meth with a street value of about $29,500. In addition, police recovered around $5,000 in cash and several drug-processing items.

A 35-year-old Welland resident, William Beckingham, has been arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, as well as possession of fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine, and cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. The charges have yet to be tested in court.

Police say the investigation remains active and are urging anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
