Peel Police Arrest 12 in ‘Project Night Train’ Targeting GTA Homes and Jewelry Stores

Peel Regional Police have dismantled two major criminal networks linked to a string of violent home invasions and jewelry store robberies across the Greater Toronto Area. Dubbed Project Night Train, the six-month investigation led to the arrest of 12 people, including six youths, and the laying of 136 charges.

Investigators say the suspects were responsible for at least 17 violent incidents between May and December 2024, resulting in $2 million in stolen property. Police have already recovered over $860,000 worth of items.

Violent Crime Spree

The crime wave included a shooting in Mississauga on October 15, 2024, where a victim was shot in the chest, and a Brampton assault on October 22, 2024, where a victim was run over by a stolen vehicle.

Suspects Identified

The following adults face charges:
• Mohanaja Ravori (19, Brampton)
• Burhan Abdulkadir (29, Toronto)
• Jason Cunningham (30, Toronto)
• Neli Deng-Akuk-Ngor (19, Toronto)
• Hakeem Thomas (23, Toronto)
• Doneil Levy-Porter (19, no fixed address)
• Ali Mahdi (32, Toronto) — currently the subject of an arrest warrant.

Six additional suspects aged 15 to 18 have also been arrested, but their names remain undisclosed due to their status as minors.
