New Golf Simulator and Sports Bar “The Clubhouse” Tees Off in Orillia, Thanks to Three Young Entrepreneurs

Orillia, ON — July 2025
A trio of 25-year-olds has launched Orillia’s newest hot spot — a high-tech golf simulator lounge fused with a modern sports bar — and it’s already turning heads.
The Clubhouse, located in the west-end plaza beside Cineplex, blends state-of-the-art TrackMan iO golf simulation technology with the energy of a local pub. Behind the venture are longtime friends and Patrick Fogarty Secondary grads Jordan Burnett, Matthew Sarchuk, and Zac Bell — all of whom say their mission was simple: bring something fresh to Orillia’s nightlife.
“We were tired of driving to Barrie just to find something fun,” said Burnett. “We wanted to build a space that felt modern, welcoming, and local.”
PGA Tech, Pub Vibes
The Clubhouse features four oversized simulator bays, allowing guests to play world-class courses, analyze their swing data, or challenge friends to virtual mini putt. It’s the same cutting-edge system used by golf stars like Rory McIlroy.
Beyond the turf, the space boasts what Burnett calls “Orillia’s longest bar”, with TVs tuned to every major game and sound systems pumping a true sports bar atmosphere.
From Scratch — Literally
The venue’s transformation was a full community effort. From flooring by Zac’s dad to bar setup help from Sarchuk’s mom, friends and family helped bring the concept to life. Burnett and Sarchuk now run daily operations — cooking, serving, and assisting golfers — while Bell leads marketing.
“We’ve worked seven days a week for months,” said Burnett. “But this is our passion.”
A Menu with a Twist
The food isn’t your typical greasy bar fare. Think air-fried wings, grass-fed beef, and ingredients sourced from a sustainable Hamilton farm. Their signature wings are already a local hit — crispy, jumbo-sized, and healthier.
What’s Next
Plans include launching golf leagues, private events, and custom memberships — but the owners say they’re in no rush.
“We’re focused on building something long-lasting,” said Sarchuk. “Not just trendy.”
They’re also open to collaborations and community events. Early partnerships include the Orillia Junior B Kings and a potential father-son event with the Royal Canadian Legion.
Betting Big on Orillia
Despite their age, the three friends have invested everything — financially and emotionally — into the venture.
“This is the time to take risks,” Burnett said. “We didn’t want to wait until we’re 40 to build something meaningful here.”
So far, locals agree they’re onto something special.
“The response has been incredible,” said Burnett. “People tell us this is exactly what Orillia needed.”
