BRADFORD — A woman charged in connection with a large-scale Taylor Swift ticket scam made a virtual court appearance in Bradford on Thursday, as the legal process continues to unfold.

Denise Tisor, one of two individuals accused in the case, joined the proceedings by audio on July 3. Her legal representative, N. Goldstein, requested the matter be postponed until August for a Crown pretrial. However, Justice Carolyn Anne Noordegraaf denied the delay and instead scheduled a new appearance for July 18, where a trial date is expected to be discussed.

Assistant Crown attorney Alexia Brown also noted that Tisor’s legal team is considering transferring the case to Toronto jurisdiction.

The alleged scam dates back to November 2024, when Taylor Swift kicked off her highly anticipated Eras Tour in Toronto. Halton Regional Police reported receiving dozens of complaints about fake or undelivered tickets. A Facebook user operating under the name “Denise Blackhawk” allegedly sold fraudulent tickets, resulting in 55 confirmed incidents of fraud totaling nearly $140,000.

Police charged a 44-year-old woman with fraud, possession of property obtained by crime, and money laundering. In January, Toronto Police laid additional charges and arrested a second suspect. That individual, a 56-year-old, also faces charges of possession of property obtained by crime and money laundering related to an alleged $70,000 scheme that defrauded 28 more victims.

Authorities continue to investigate as court proceedings move forward.
