TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon: A Fall Classic
Widely regarded as Canada’s premier running event, the TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon is a highlight of the fall racing season. In 2025, this iconic event promises another unforgettable experience for participants and spectators alike.

Race Categories:
•Marathon (42.2K): Scheduled for October 19, 2025, the full marathon is a challenging yet rewarding journey through the heart of Toronto. Starting at 8:00 a.m. on University Avenue, just north of Queen Street, runners will embark on a course that winds through the downtown core and along the picturesque waterfront, traversing more than a dozen of Toronto’s unique neighborhoods. The finish line awaits on Bay Street, just north of Queen Street, with the post-race festivities taking place at Nathan Phillips Square. The marathon has a strict 6-hour time limit and a maximum capacity of 10,000 participants. Please note that registration for the 2025 Marathon is already SOLD OUT.
•Half Marathon (21.1K): Also taking place on October 19, 2025, the half marathon offers a similar scenic experience, starting at 8:00 a.m. on University Avenue. This 21K course also navigates through downtown and along the waterfront, concluding at the same finish line and post-race area as the full marathon. Participants have 3 hours and 30 minutes to complete the course, with a maximum of 12,000 participants.
•5K: The 5K race, held on October 18, 2025, with a 9:00 a.m. start time, provides an accessible option for runners of all levels. The course begins on University Avenue, just north of Queen Street West, and takes participants through a dynamic route that includes Dundas Street, Wellington Avenue, and Bay Street, before finishing on Bay Street near Queen Street. The 5K has a time limit of 1 hour and 10 minutes and accommodates up to 8,000 participants. Strollers are welcome in the 5K event only.
